Sulzenausee
Sulzenausee (2560 m) is a lake located at the end of the Stubai valley in a very beautiful area. The hiking is specially interesting, because the path goes through a variety of landscapes. The route begins with the climbing of Grawa waterfall through a forest, afterwards we reach a plateau where the river meanders, surrounded by a circus from where other great waterfall descends. Following the river, we reach Sulzenausee. The lake is located at the end of the glacier Sulzenau Ferner. In our way to Sulzenausee we take a detour to see the Blaue Lacke, a little and nice blue lake.

It is a very pleasant hike, which follows the same path than Grünausee until Sulzenau Hütte. In our opinion, this is one of the most beautiful areas for hiking around. When we made this route, the glacier had broken and part of it was on the lake making it even more spectacular.
00:00 Start. We start from Grawa Alm, a nice and small Alm with a terrace in front of the impressive Grawa waterfall. We go down by a path from the Alm, cross the river and arrive at a viewpoint at the base of the waterfall.
00:05 Base of the waterfall. We start the ascent by a small path that goes to our right (direction S) through a peatland, equipped with stairs to avoid stepping on it. In addition, during the ascent we find several viewpoints that overlook the waterfall.
00:50 Forest road. We arrive at the top of a cableway used to ascend and descend material to Sulzenau Alm and Sulzenau Hütte. From here the path is a forest road that leads to the circus where Sulzenau Alm is located
01:05 Sulzenau Alm. We walk in front of the Alm and continue along the path that leads us to the next waterfall. From there we take the path that ascends to its right to Sulzenau Hütte.
02:00 Sulzenau Hütte. We arrive at the hut. Following the signs, we take the path that goes direction SW towards Sulzenausee.
02:10 Detour to Blaue Lake. We take a short detour to see the Blaue Lacke, which is not well marked and we walk without following a path. Instead of making this part like this, it is better to follow the signals in Sulzenau Hütte to Blaue Lake, cross the river and reach it to avoid to walk outside of the path.
02:20 Blaue Lacke. We reach the Blaue Lacke and then go back to the marked path to Sulzenausee, that goes up besides the river.
03:10 Sulzenausee. We reach the lake and enjoy the impressive image of the glacier on it. The descent follows at all times along the same path as the ascent. At 03:55 we pass by Sulzenau Hütte, at 04:40 Sulzenau Alm and at 05:50 Grawa Alm.
