Axamer Lizum is a very complete ski resort, where you can enjoy both freeride routes for advanced skiers and a snowpark for beginners. It is located at the foot of the Kalkkögel, an impressive mountain range formed by couloirs and walls. In Axamer Lizum the alpine skiing events of the 1964 and 1967 Olympic Games were contested, all except the men's descent that took place in Patscherkofel. These competitions took place on the tracks "Reisenenslalom Herren" for men and "Reisenenslalom Damen" for women.
- In Axamer Lizum it is quite easy to find not steep freeride areas, perfect for beginners in powder.
- We like the blue slope "Abfahrt Damen", it is quite long, it has several changes of inclination and in spite of being blue it has enough steepness.
- Due to its size and freeride, it is our favorite ski resort of the closest to Innsbruck.
