Nordkette is, together with Patscherkofel, one of the favorite ski resorts of the residents of Innsbruck, because its proximity and its difficulty. It is a small ski resort for expert skiers, with lots of off-piste routes and not groomed areas to explore and enjoy powder. The ski resort could be divided into two parts, Haffelekar (2300m) where there are only freeride routes and Seegrube (1900), where groomed slopes predominate. In addition, the panoramic view of the Inn Valley and the city of Innsbruck is very beautiful. From the highest area, Haffelekar, we can also enjoy the views of the Karwendel Natural Park.
Being able to get to a ski resort by free city bus is awesome.
We love that Nordkette is so committed to freeriding, there are many descents and they are very well indicated. In addition, the area has a world of possibilities for everyone to make their own route. Also the avalanche department always try to keep the area as safe as possible.
The black track "Kasermandl Tal" is very funny.
